Individual Part for week 7 Communication Presentation

Communication Methods: Platform (Individual Part)

Effective communication is very important in a team project. It allows team members to connect with each other as well as connecting with the targeted audience. There are many methods of communication but the four main techniques that are more relevant are written communication, oral communication, face-to face and communication through media.

The benefits of written form is that as a team we have a physical record and reference of everything that was mentioned during discussion and it works also as an evidence to avoid miscommunication or arguments amongst members in the future. Not only that, written communication helps laying down rules and principles. Written communication also increases accuracy and minimizes unwanted errors. Mistake on the proposal or document and the context can be corrected instantly by the team members before publishing the project online or presenting it to the client.

Oral communication method is also essential for teamwork because members can provide and respond to each other’s feedback quickly and the issues and conflicts that occurred throughout the process of the project can be resolved through talking. Oral communication encourages flexibility as the method we have chosen to manage our team is with Agile Development method and therefore being able to communicate verbally helps us to understand each other’s idea better.

Face-to-face is another method that corresponds to oral communication. This method is the most effective medium and has the most convincing power. To be able to reach out and present the project is a form of achievement and can be very persuasive towards clients. Successful face-to-face communication is achieved when clients or targeted audiences are able to understand completely and creates a two-way relationship that has response to an idea or presentation.

Last but not least the powerful source of media, social media. Social media nowadays play such a big part in communication; it’s a form of networking without having to spend much and able to make known our project. The media world is limitless and it is so important to us because anyone can comment, edit and this adds to the output of our project. It is really beneficial and often recognized and acknowledged by the public. We are able to learn and extend our knowledge through the feedbacks provided to improve and enhance the quality of work.
